Direct access is anyone’s ability to self-refer to a PT to seek their services. You do not require a physician referral to go to Physical Therapy in the state of Arkansas unless you require bronchopulmonary hygiene or wound debridement.

Mobile Physical Therapy is PT that travels to the patient’s desired location to deliver services. This can be similar to home health, but is not limited to working in the home. Mobile PTs can deliver services in any environment that is safe and adequate for the services being provided. This could be your place of work, your home or an outdoor location.

Cash-Based Physical Therapy is PT delivered through exchange of cash or goods and services of equal value, as opposed to any involvement of an insurance agency. More info can be found here.

Cash-Based PT may be appropriate if you need to return to work after an injury but cannot justify the time to go to a clinic for PT. It is also appropriate to supplement Home Health Physical Therapy and help perform exercises and the home exercise program when there is no one else to help. It can also be appropriate after discharge from Home Health PT or Outpatient PT when exercise is needed to maintain current functional level or continue to progress towards greater levels of function.

This will vary based on each individual’s needs. Price-per-visit is based on the volume of visits needed. When more visits are needed, price-per-visit decreases. Rates are currently based on half-hour, hour, and hour-and-a-half visit lengths.
